Playa de Corint is a maritime bathing zone located in Sagunto, Valencia, Spain. The beach has a longitudinal open configuration with small perpendicular breakwaters for defense and spans 2,691.8 meters in length with an average width of 56.7 meters. The beach composition consists of boulders, gravel, and sand of artificial origin, situated on a low accumulation coastline with a microtidal range.

Location

Sagunto, Valencia province, Valencian Community, Spain. The beach is bordered to the north by Almenara municipality and to the south by Playa de l'Almardà. Parking is available. Beach access is provided, including accessibility for persons with disabilities.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Good for the coastal water mass. Two sampling points are monitored. The water quality classifications for recent years show ratings of Excellent and Good. Water quality management is governed by Royal Decree 1341/2007 implementing Directive 2006/7/CE. Weekly inspections are conducted during the bathing season evaluating visual inspection parameters, sand cleanliness, access conditions, and maintenance of facilities.

Risks

Two artificial canal outlets (Gola de Queralt and Gola de Quartell/Gola de l'Estany) with intermittent mixed-origin discharges and medium risk rating. Short-duration contamination risk factors evaluated as low frequency and mild impact: rainfall, urban sewage systems, and coastal discharges. Other low-frequency, mild-impact factors include rivers/canals, industrial facilities, port installations, and diffuse contamination.
