Esparrelló is a longitudinal beach located in La Villajoyosa municipality in Alicante province, Valencian Community, Spain. The beach has a total shoreline of 228 metres with an average width of 14 metres, composed of boulders and sand. Large rocks protect the beach from waves on its northern and southern sections. The beach is bounded to the north by Bol Nou beach and to the south by La Caleta beach.

Water Quality

The water body has achieved 'very good' status under the Water Framework Directive. Water quality classification is monitored weekly during the bathing season using visual inspection parameters and analytical results, rated as excellent, good, sufficient, or insufficient. No direct coastal discharges or urban sewage connections affect the beach water quality.

Risks

Short-duration contamination risks identified with low frequency and mild impact: rainfall (low frequency, mild impact), urban sanitation (low frequency, mild impact), coastal discharges (low frequency, mild impact). Other factors with low frequency and mild impact include rivers/channels, industrial installations, port installations, and diffuse pollution. No cyanobacteria proliferation has been detected in the Valencian Community coastal area. Phytoplankton and macroalgae blooms are natural phenomena monitored through surveillance networks.
