Playa de La Patacona is a maritime bathing zone located in the municipality of Alboraya, Valencia, Spain. The beach has a longitudinal open configuration with a rigid maritime promenade and is composed of sand. It features a low accumulation coastline with currents flowing from south to north and a microtidal range. The beach is 1,083.78 meters long with an average width of 142.06 meters.

Water

Maritime bathing water. The beach has a length of 1,083.78 meters and an average width of 142.06 meters. The water body is classified as a coastal water mass under the Júcar River Basin District. Current direction is from south to north with a microtidal range.

Location

The beach is situated in Alboraya, Valencia province, in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is bordered to the north by the Alboraya municipality beach and to the south by the Valencia municipality. Parking is available. Disabled access is provided.

Facilities

Lifeguards (salvamento y socorrismo), toilets (gratuitos), showers and foot washers, disabled access point (Punto Accesible), parking, buoys (balizamiento), waste bins including selective waste collection. Scooter and umbrella rental available. No bar or chiringuito.

Water Quality

The water mass status is classified as Good. Water quality is monitored weekly during the bathing season. The bathing zone is classified as Excellent. Environmental monitoring includes visual inspection parameters and water analysis for E. coli and intestinal enterococci according to Royal Decree 1341/2007.

Risks

Three discharge points affect the beach: Acequia 150 m north (medium risk, continuous discharge), Acequia del Mar (medium risk, intermittent discharge with metal gates), and Acequia de Vera (low risk, intermittent discharge). Potential contamination risk factors from rainfall, urban sanitation, and coastal discharges are classified as low frequency with minor impact. No cyanobacterial proliferation has been detected.
