Atlantic Ocean bathing zone, 370 meters long and 60 meters wide with calm waters. Water temperature ranges from 14.1°C to 20.6°C during the bathing season. Part of the Muros water body (ES01411) in the Galicia-Costa hydrographic demarcation.

Location

Fisterra, A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. The beach is known as Praia do Sardiñeiro in the Seo de Corcubión sector.

Facilities

Lifeguards are not present. Toilets and showers are available. Disabled access is not available. Parking is available with fewer than 50 spaces and is not monitored. The beach has waste bins. Surfing is permitted in designated zones.

Season

June to September (official monitoring season).

Water Quality

The water body has good ecological status and good chemical status, resulting in good overall status. The bathing zone was classified as insufficient in 2014 and 2015, then reincorporated with antecedents in 2017. No evidence of risks from contact with phytoplankton or cyanobacteria has been detected based on monitoring campaigns. No significant presence of jellyfish has been detected during surveillance periods 2014-2017.

Risks

Significant risk of short-duration contamination from occasional discharges associated with precipitation episodes, given the population density of 163 inhabitants per km² and historical contamination antecedents. No significant macroalgae proliferation detected. No significant jellyfish presence.
