El Castillo is a natural coastal bathing water on the Mediterranean Sea near Manilva, Málaga. The beach extends 2,370 meters in length with an average width of 30 meters and features dark sand composition. Bathing conditions are characterized by moderate wave exposure with currents predominantly moving toward the northeast. The beach is semi-urbanized with medium occupancy levels and can be accessed on foot or by car.

Mediterranean Sea coastal waters influenced by Atlantic water masses. Shallow waters with sandy substrate. Microtidal range (0–2 m). Current regime dominates toward the northeast. Wave regime dominates from east and east-southeast associated with levante wind. Moderately exposed to wave action.

Location

Manilva, Málaga, Andalucía, Spain. Located on the Costa del Sol near Puerto Deportivo La Duquesa. Access by foot or car.

Showers available. Waste bins present. Cleaning service provided. Water sports rental available. Surveillance equipment present. Danger signage present. No lifeguards. No toilets. No disabled access. No nautical club. No moorings area. No scuba diving zone.

Classified as excellent for all monitoring seasons: 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Low microbiological contamination risk of short duration (24 hours). Low risk from jellyfish, phytoplankton, and macroalgae proliferation. Diffuse pollution sources include land use, built surfaces, and altered areas in the influence zone. Three watercourses (Arroyos Indiano, Alcorrín, Martagina) influence the area.
