El Corral is a natural Mediterranean coastal beach located in Carboneras, Almería, in the Andalusian region of Spain. The beach is 1,150 metres long with an average width of 30 metres, composed of gravel and white sand. It experiences moderate wave conditions and is situated in a low-occupancy, isolated area within a protected zone (LIC/ZEPA/Natural Park). The water body is deep and rocky with sandy substrate.

Mediterranean coastal waters. Deep rocky waters with sandy and gravelly substrate. Micromareal range (0–2 metres). Currents flow dominantly towards the east, east-southeast, and east-northeast. Moderately exposed to waves, with dominant wave direction from the east and east-northeast associated with Levante wind.

Location

Carboneras, Almería, Andalucía, Spain. The beach is accessible on foot or by car. The nearest sports port is at Carboneras, 2 kilometres away.

Surveillance equipment present. Signage available. Waste bins. Cleaning service. No Red Cross station. No lifeguard rescue equipment. No toilets. No showers. No disabled access. No watersports rental. No scuba diving zone.

Water quality classification: Excellent for all seasons from 2013 to 2016. Low short-term microbiological contamination risk (24 hours). Identified point pollution source: HOLCIM ESPAÑA S.A. (AL033/AL041). Diffuse pollution sources include land use, forest and natural surfaces in the influence zone. Monitoring conducted using deterministic methodology (UNE 150008 standard).
