El Palmer is a natural coastal bathing water located in the municipality of Enix on Almería's Mediterranean coast. The beach is 170 metres long with an average width of 12 metres, featuring a composition of boulders, gravel, and rock. The water offers calm bathing conditions and is classified as moderately exposed to wave action dominated by easterly and north-easterly winds. The beach is semiurban with medium occupancy levels.

Water

Mediterranean coastal waters influenced by Atlantic waters. Deep waters with mud and sand substrate. Micro-tidal range of 0–2 metres. Currents dominant towards the east, east-south-east, and east-north-east. Wave regime dominated by easterly and north-easterly winds associated with levante wind. Annual precipitation 200–400 mm with 50–75% torrential rainfall index.

Location

Enix municipality, Almería Province, Andalusia, Spain. Access is by car. Aguadulce sports harbour is located 4 kilometres away.

Facilities

Surveillance equipment is present. Signage is available. Waste bins and cleaning service are provided. No Red Cross station, lifeguard rescue equipment, toilets, showers, disabled access, or beach promenade are available.

Water Quality

Water quality classification was Excellent in all four monitoring seasons: 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Short-duration contamination risk is classified as low and of microbiological nature. No point pollution sources are recorded. Diffuse pollution sources include land uses in the influence zone, constructed surfaces, and altered terrain.
