Tagle is a bathing beach located in Suances, Cantabria, measuring 200 metres in length with an average width of 50 metres. The beach has golden sand and moderate wave conditions, with low occupancy levels. Access is available by car on the CN-132 road. The beach is situated on the Cantabrian coast in a relatively isolated urbanisation.

Coastal maritime water body in the Cantabrian Sea, within the Cantabrian River Basin Demarcation. Chlorophyll a concentration at the coastal water station in the Tagle zone is approximately 2 µg/l. Phytoplankton density in Cantabrian estuaries is very low, below 5,000,000 cells/l.

Suances, Cantabria. Access by car via the CN-132 road. Parking available with over 100 spaces. Interurban bus transport available. Nearest hospital is Sierrallana in Torrelavega, 20 kilometres away.

Tagle beach is not included in the Náyade classification system. Data from nearby beaches shows Los Locos beach achieved Excellent classification in 2011 and Very Good classifications from 2005–2010. La Concha beach achieved Good classifications from 2005–2010 and Insufficient classification in 2011. Monitoring point coordinates: UTM 411566.56 m (X), 4809102.55 m (Y), Huso 30.

Risks

Urban discharge points identified in the area, with one continuous industrial discharge from SOLVAY USGO (RV/CN/506, continuous monitoring as of 30 December 2009). Wastewater treatment plants EDAR Vuelta Ostrera (Suances 1 and 2) are located in the vicinity. Risk assessment indicates medium contamination risk under Directive 2006/7/CE.
