Playa Laño is a maritime bathing zone located in Raxó, Poio municipality, Pontevedra province in Galicia. The beach is 535 metres long and 15 metres wide, composed of gravel and sand with tranquil water conditions. It experiences medium visitor numbers and is classified as semi-urban.

Maritime water body in the Ría de Pontevedra basin, within the Galicia Costa hydrographic demarcation. The water body is classified as Marín with a length of 535 metres and width of 15 metres.

Location

Raxó, Poio municipality, Pontevedra province, Galicia, Spain. UTM coordinates: X 521629, Y 4695963 (European Datum 1950 UTM 29N).

Water Quality

The water body is classified in poor ecological status. Microbiological classification shows excellent quality based on E. coli and Enterococcus concentrations monitored from 2008 to 2010. No historical antecedents of contamination are recorded for the bathing zone or adjacent shellfish production zone (GAL 10/06 Ría de Pontevedra Raxó/M, classified as Zone B).

Risks

Short-term contamination risks from occasional discharges associated with precipitation events are not significant. No localized discharge risks have been identified.
