La Yuca - Arroyohondo is a 365-meter beach in Benalmádena, Málaga, with a semi-urban character and moderate wave exposure. The beach comprises gravel and dark sand with shallow waters and a micromareal range. It is located on the Mediterranean coast and experiences moderate bathing conditions.

Mediterranean coastal water. Shallow waters with sand substrate. Micromareal range of 0–2 metres. Currents dominant towards the northeast. Wave regime dominant from the east and east-southeast associated with Levante wind. Moderately exposed to waves.

Location

Benalmádena, Málaga, Andalucía. Access is on foot or by car. Puerto de Benalmarina is nearby.

Facilities

Showers, waste bins, and cleaning service are available. Red Cross post, lifeguard equipment, vigilance equipment, signage, disabled access, and mooring zone are not available.

Water Quality

Water quality classification was Excellent for the 2013–2016 monitoring period across all four seasons. Short-duration microbiological contamination risk is low. Risk from jellyfish, phytoplankton, and macroalgae proliferation is low.

Risks

Diffuse pollution source from land use in the influence zone, built and altered surfaces, forestry, and natural areas. Short-duration microbiological risk. Arroyos Mando and Casablanca are tributaries in the area.
