Las Olas is a beach located on the Almería coastline in southeastern Spain, along the Mediterranean Sea. The beach stretches 310 meters in length with an average width of 35 meters and features dark sand composition. It experiences calm bathing conditions with moderate wave exposure. The beach has low occupancy and semi-urban development, with easy pedestrian access and vehicular access available.

Mediterranean coastal waters influenced by Atlantic waters. The seabed consists of muddy sand with deep bathymetry. Microtidal range of 0–2 meters. Dominant currents flow toward the east, east-southeast, and east-northeast. Dominant wave regime comes from the east and east-northeast, associated with levante wind.

Almería municipality, Almería province, Andalusia region, Spain. The beach is situated on the Almería coastline. The nearest sports port is Almería, located 2 kilometers away.

Facilities

Signage is present. A promenade is available. Disabled access is provided. Trash bins and cleaning service are available. No lifeguards, Red Cross post, rescue equipment, surveillance equipment, showers, or toilets are present.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for the reported period 2013–2016 was rated as Excellent for all four seasons (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016). Short-duration contamination risk is low, primarily microbiological in nature with a duration of 24 hours. Risk assessment methodology followed the deterministic approach per UNE 150008 standard.

Risks

Diffuse pollution sources include land uses in the influence zone, built surfaces, and altered areas. Low risk from jellyfish, phytoplankton, and macroalgae proliferation. San Telmo ravine is a nearby river course.
