Located in Lastres village, municipality of Colunga, Asturias, Spain. Good pedestrian access and road access with fewer than 50 parking spaces.

Water quality classified as Excellent for bathing in recent years. Microbiological monitoring shows excellent sanitary quality. Risk of contamination classified as Low. Main pollution sources include Frayón stream (which may carry organic matter and enteric bacteria from adjacent properties and sanitation network failures) and Lastres Port (potential oily spills and debris from port activity). Sanitation network pumping station located 231 meters from monitoring point.

Risks

Potential short-duration contamination episodes from Frayón stream discharge (affecting water quality and aesthetic value) and sanitation network failures (fecal discharge and odor). Low risk of microalgae and cyanobacteria proliferation. Low risk of jellyfish blooms; Portuguese Man o' War (Physalia physalis), Sailing vessels (Velella velella), Sea carnations (Pelagia noctiluca), and Moon jellyfish (Aurelia aurita) occasionally present in spring-summer months, with notable incidents in 2008, 2010, and particularly 2012. Macroalgae proliferation risk is low and naturally associated with storms.
