Playa Sant Esteve is a natural bathing beach on Menorca in the Balearic Islands with a length of 1,170 metres and a gentle slope. The beach has a gravel substrate and is characterized by the presence of currents and undertow. It is used recreationally, primarily by local residents on weekends, with medium visitor numbers.

Water

Open bathing water in a natural marine setting. Beach length is 1,170 metres. The beach has a gentle slope and gravel substrate. Currents are present; undertow occurs; whirlpools do not occur. Water body code: MEMCO1M6, located between Cap de Bajolí and Punta Prima.

Water Quality

Annual water quality classification was Excellent in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Water quality status was Good in 2007–2009, 2018–2019, and 2022–2023. No short-duration pollution episodes were recorded in 2019–2022. No exceptional pollution episodes exceeding 72 hours were recorded in 2019–2022. Floating waste accumulation was low in 2019, very low in 2020 and 2021, and medium in 2022. Two EBAR sewage systems without relief valves are present. Rainwater discharges occur. No other contamination sources have been identified.

Risks

Jellyfish occurrences are occasional. No history of phytoplankton proliferation. No history of cyanobacteria proliferation.
