Plage de la Courtade is a bathing beach located on the island of Porquerolles near Hyères in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The beach consists of fine sand and pebbles, stretches for 800 metres with a width of 10 metres, and has a northwest orientation. The beach is managed as a concession by the Metropolis and is used for swimming and water sports activities. It experiences high visitor numbers and is classified as an open configuration beach.

Water Quality

2022 final classification: Excellent. Water quality is monitored through microbiological analysis detecting Escherichia coli and faecal Enterococci as indicators of faecal contamination. No microbiological pollution was recorded in 2019, 2021, or 2022. No chemical pollution was recorded in 2020. No biological pollution was recorded in 2020. Monitoring is conducted by the regional health authority (ARS) and by self-surveillance through a Metropolis service provider.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified include the Port of Porquerolles (low risk with increased risk during rain), storm drains (low risk with increased risk during rain), and a mooring zone (medium risk during dry conditions). Visual monitoring is conducted for chemical pollution indicators including foam, iridescence, or suspicious colouration.
