Plage Notre Dame is a sandy beach located on the Île de Porquerolles near Hyères in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The beach is 995 meters long with a 10-meter width and fine sand composition. It faces northwest and has an open configuration. The beach experiences high visitor numbers and is used primarily for swimming.

Location

Île de Porquerolles, Hyères, Var department, France. Coordinates: N 43°00'35.9" - E 6°13'44.3". Access via pedestrian pathway. No parking available.

Facilities

Toilets available. No lifeguard post, no rescue personnel, no showers, no drinking water point, no disabled access, no disabled water entry equipment, no animals allowed, waste bins (domestic waste only), no parking, no beach restaurants.

Water Quality

Final classification 2022: Excellent. No microbiological pollution recorded in 2019, 2021. Preventive closures occurred on 04/06/2020 and 28/06/2022 due to unfavorable meteorological conditions without contamination detected. No chemical pollution recorded from 2019-2022. No biological pollution recorded from 2019-2022. Monitoring carried out by ARS (Regional Health Agency) and self-monitoring by Métropole TPM.

Risks

Stormwater drainage channels present weak bacterial pollution risk in dry conditions. Mooring zone presents moderate pollution risk from contaminated water discharge. Zone experiences winds from the north, north-west, and west which increase sensitivity.
