Praia da Afurada is located near the fishing village of Afurada, close to the mouth of the Douro River, with access to the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is reached on foot via a short path over rocks, some of which may be wet from waves, and standard GPS navigation may direct visitors to private property instead of the correct route. Facilities are limited, and the surrounding area includes local seafood vendors known for clams.
