Ferragudo is a transition bathing water located on the estuary of the Arade River in an area with restricted use, associated with sensitive natural systems. The beach features wide golden sand surrounded by heavily eroded cliffs and extends 280 metres along the waterfront. It is situated within a harbour jurisdiction area. The beach experiences a tidal range of 3.3 to 3.8 metres and mean wave height of 0.5 metres, with predominant northwest winds.
