Priorteich is an idyllic inland lake located within the Priorteich-Sachsenstein nature reserve between Bad Sachsa and Walkenried in Germany. The lake is surrounded by dense mixed forest with a high proportion of very old beech trees. According to tradition, it was created in the Middle Ages by monks from Walkenried monastery as a fish pond. The water body measures approximately 350 metres in length and 220 metres in maximum width.
