Wiesenbeker Teich

Germany Lake 1 - Excellent

The Wiesenbeker Teich is a reservoir fed by the Wiesenbek stream located near Bad Lauterberg in the Harz region. It covers an area of 6.8 hectares and is situated in a forested setting within the Harz mountains. The site offers opportunities for cycling and hiking, with the Harzer Baudenstieg hiking trail passing directly by the pond. A camping site and café/restaurant (Dombrowsky's Baude) are located adjacent to the water.

Water

Inland lake (reservoir). Surface area: 6.8 hectares. Fed by the Wiesenbek stream.

Location

Near Bad Lauterberg in the Harz. Accessible by car: from Herzberg direction, turn right at the 2nd traffic light towards Wiesenbek and Kliniken, then turn left at the 2nd street (towards Kliniken) and continue straight in the direction of Dombrowsky's Baude. Parking available at the campsite.

Water Quality

EU classification: Excellent quality (percentile assessment according to Directive 2006/7/EC). Nutrient input is excluded due to surrounding forest cover with no agricultural activity. No history of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) problems. Risk of such problems is very low.
