Prožura is a partially cultivated beach located on the island of Mljet in Croatia. The beach features a concrete structure surface with rocky areas and low vegetation. It stretches 735 metres in length with an average width of 10 metres along an indented coastline. Average sea temperature during the season reaches 23.54°C, and the beach experiences low bather density.

Water

Adriatic Sea. Salinity ranges from 32.3 to 39.1 during the season. Moderate underwater coastal slope ranging from 15 to 25 degrees. Tide amplitude is 22.4 centimetres. Prevailing wind direction is west.

Location

Mljet island, Mljet municipality. Accessible by pedestrian path. Free parking is available. Boat docking facilities are provided directly on the beach.

Season

Regular monitoring conducted annually with 10 samples per year since 2010. Multi-year assessment periods range from 2009–2012 through 2022–2025, with 40 samples per period.

Water Quality

Water quality has been assessed annually and across multi-year periods under both Croatian national regulations and EU Directive 2006/7/EZ, with consistent sampling of 10 times per year since 2010. Quality classifications recorded include excellent, good, sufficient, and poor ratings.
