Punta Spinosa is a rocky bathing area located in San Giovanni a Piro in the Campania region. Location

San Giovanni a Piro, province of Salerno, Campania region. The municipal office is located at Via Roma, 56, CAP 84070 San Giovanni a Piro (Sa).

Water Quality

Water quality classification is Excellent (2020–2023). Monitoring conducted under Italian Legislative Decree 30.05.08 n. 116.

Risks

Possible pollution sources identified include three wastewater treatment systems: two active sludge biological treatment plants (one in Lupinata, one in Capoluogo) and one settling tank for untreated urban wastewater (in Scario, Piazza Giardino) with submarine discharge. Potential breaks in the submarine pipe from the settling tank are a possible cause of pollution.
