Water Quality

Both bathing waters are classified as excellent quality. Wastewater treatment is managed by the Ravagnese treatment plant in Reggio Calabria. Identified pollution sources include the mouth of Fiumara Sant'Agata and the mouth of Torrente Menga and Fiumara Armo. Short-term pollution events have been documented from accidental treatment plant failures and overflow, as well as urban runoff from urban areas. No anomalous situations have been verified.
