Water Quality

Water quality classification is elevated. No specific monitoring programmes are currently active for tracking pollutant concentrations and limiting their spread. One urban treatment plant serving over 2000 inhabitants equivalent is active in the municipality.

Risks

Mollusculture operations are identified as a source of impact on bathing water. Short-duration pollution events are still under study for appropriate modelling approaches. The area is not subject to blooms of macroalgae or potentially toxic microalgae.
