Rosolina mare is a sandy beach located in the Veneto region along the Adriatic Sea, approximately 300 metres south of the municipal wastewater treatment plant. The beach extends 1 to 1.5 kilometres south of the Adige River mouth and is backed by pine forests in an alluvial plain environment of the Po Delta. The beach is oriented to the east and features artificially reinforced banks with stone embankments.

Adriatic Sea. Beach area extends 1.004 square kilometres. Beach width ranges from 25 to 50 metres.

Location

Rosolina, Rovigo Province, Veneto region. Accessible from the right embankment road of the Adige River and from Rosapineta. An unpaved road provides access to the Adige mouths to the north and other southern beaches of the coast.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent (2021-2024). EI95° 24.344; EI90° 20.654; EC95° 83.569; EC90° 59.48. Main pollution sources identified: Rosolina Mare wastewater treatment plant (design capacity 30,000 inhabitant equivalents, 1.1 km from sea discharge) and private treatment plant on Albarella Island (design capacity 12,600 inhabitant equivalents, discharges directly to sea). Adige River mouth identified as pollution impact source.
