Weak occurrence of cyanobacteria, particularly in recent years. Frequent exceedances of transparency limits. Chlorophyll a exceeded limits before 2007. Occasional visible contamination observed. Future risk of phytoplankton development exists.

Risks

Risk of short-term contamination during flood conditions on the inlet. Multiple diffuse pollution sources identified: untreated wastewater from the municipalities of Ostrov and Dolní Čermná (Jakubovice section) with medium microbial contamination risk and high phosphorus input risk. Fish farming systems upstream and within the pond pose high risk through fertilisation and feeding practices. Internal load from recreational use and fish stock presents high risk.
