Saarijärven uimaranta is a lake bathing beach located in Koskue, Finland. The beach features a 60-metre sandy shore with a gradual slope into shallow water. The beach operates during the official swimming season from 15 June to 31 August.

Water

Saarijärvi is a lake with a sandy bottom. The beach has a gradual slope with uniformly increasing depth. The lake is shallow overall.

Location

Located in Koskue, Finland at Tampereentie 2525, 61720 Koskue. The beach is approximately 60 metres long with a parking area and nearby café with services. Coordinates: EUREF FIN X 62.2782, Y 22.9098.

Facilities

Rescue boat, rescue ring, two changing cabins, three waste bins, parking area, toilet facilities.

Season

15 June to 31 August. Water quality monitoring occurs during this period.

Water Quality

Water quality was classified as excellent based on testing results from 2021-2023. Monitoring occurs at the bathing area where most swimmers enter the water. Sampling frequency is one sample approximately two weeks before the season and three samples during the season (15 June to 31 August). Most recent results show Enterococcus and E. coli levels within acceptable ranges.

Risks

No cyanobacteria observations have been recorded. Broken glass and other debris may occasionally be found on the beach, but pre-season diving operations remove significant quantities of hazardous items. Weather effects may reduce water visibility.
