A non-urban beach with intensive use located in a small valley, featuring good surfing and fishing conditions. The beach is surrounded by a fragile dune system with landscape characteristics worth preserving. It holds Blue Flag status and the Accessible Beach - Beach for All award. Torres Vedras has held the QualityCoast award since 2009.

Water Quality

Water quality classification from 2020 under Decreto-Lei 135/09 (amended by Decreto-Lei 113/2012). Santa Rita Norte is the representative monitoring point for the grouped Santa Rita Norte and Santa Rita Sul bathing waters. No history of short-term pollution events (duration ≤72 hours) was recorded. Zero days of bathing advice against or prohibition due to short-term pollution in bathing season 2020. No significant microbiological pollution sources exist near this bathing water.
