Scoglio Garofano is a bathing water area on the Ligurian coast near Celle Ligure, characterized by a rocky shoreline with small pebble beaches, particularly on the western side. The area is difficult to access in general, though private sea baths with services are present in the eastern initial zone. The water body is classified as excellent quality based on 2008–2011 monitoring data.

Coastal waters (CWA3 category: Mountainous Relief, Low Stability). Area extent: 1.03 square kilometres. The shoreline is almost entirely rocky with small pebble beaches predominantly on the western side.

Celle Ligure, Savona Province, Liguria Region, Italy. Private sea bath facilities with services are available in the eastern zone.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). No sewage treatment plants or discharge systems are present in the coastal area. River mouths (Rio Carrea, Rio Fighetto, Rio Presane, Rio Lorio) have been identified as pollution sources.

Risks

River mouth discharges identified as impact sources. Cyanobacterial blooms are not characteristic of the Ligurian Sea due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded in the past four years.
