Senhora da Ribeira is a river beach located on the Albufeira da Aguieira reservoir on the Mondego River, approximately 2 kilometers downstream from the mouth of the Dão River. The reservoir extends through six municipalities: Penacova, Carregal do Sal, Mortágua, Santa Comba Dão, Tábua, and Tondela. The bathing area is situated in the Santa Comba Dão region.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for 2024 complies with Decreto-Lei 135/09 of June 3rd, amended by Decreto-Lei 113/2012 of May 23rd. No short-term pollution events occurred in the 2024 bathing season. Identified microbiological pollution sources include diffuse sources upstream from agricultural or forestry activities, solid waste from beach activities, and high user numbers. Cyanobacteria and phytoplankton have elevated potential for proliferation.
