Sommerbad Ostende is an artificial bathing water body created in 1935 from a former clay pit in Hamburg's Wandsbek district. The lake covers 45,000 square metres with a maximum depth of 9.8 metres and an average depth of 4.4 metres. Located within a residential area in the Tonndorf neighbourhood, the bathing site encompasses a 100-metre beach section. The water is fed only by groundwater and precipitation, with a drainage system that prevents continuous water exchange.
