The bathing water area is located off the San Nicola port, adjacent to residential structures with high summer traffic. The beach predominantly features sandy areas with some rock breakwaters and rare Mediterranean scrub vegetation. The area extends 1,500 metres along the Palermo-Trabia watershed.

Location

Trabia, Palermo Province, Sicily. The bathing area is positioned at coordinates 38.0143–13.6164 (start) to 38.0093–13.6263 (end), near the San Nicola port. The monitoring station is located at coordinates 38.0106–13.62196.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is sufficient for the period 2019–2024. No bathing prohibitions are in place. No short-duration pollution events have been reported.

Risks

The area is located near zones with high human activity and carries a risk of cyanobacterial proliferation. Ostreopsis Ovata algal species has been identified as a potential proliferation concern.
