Location

Positano, Province of Salerno, Campania region. The municipality is located at Via G. Marconi, 111, CAP 84017, Positano (Sa).

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (under D.Lgs. 30.05.08 n. 116) for the years 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified include: a pumping station and emergency overflow located at Fornillo Marina di Positano on the western side; potential ruptures of the submarine outfall pipe; and a water stream reaching the sea near the monitoring point. Wastewater treatment occurs via an activated sludge biological treatment plant with submarine outfall discharge located at Rivo dei Mulini.
