Spiagge le Praie/la Gavitella is a sandy beach located in Praiano in the Campania region. Location

Praiano, Province of Salerno, Campania region. The beach is located on the eastern side of the coast, with monitoring points identified at coordinates Lat. 40.611254° Long. 14.536531°.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2023). The beach is monitored under Italian Decree 116/2008.

Risks

Two primary treatment plants with surface discharge are located nearby: one via Roma in Praia and one via S. Nicola in Vettica, both with submarine outfalls. Possible pollution sources identified include surface discharge from the treatment plant via S. Nicola, an emergency discharge pump station via Rezzola, and potential submarine pipeline ruptures.
