Punta del Corvo is a bathing area located along a cliff and rocky shoreline in the Sicilia region. The beach has a narrow sandy area of approximately 2 metres wide with deep seabed. The coastal landscape is sparsely urbanised with intense agricultural activity in nearby areas. The climate is dry subtropical, characterised by high summer temperatures and modest winter rainfall.

Water

Canale di Sicilia (Strait of Sicily), classified as water body IT1908155, section 16. The area extends 1.2 kilometres and features a cliff-lined rocky shoreline with deep seabed.

Location

Scicli, in the province of Ragusa, Sicilia. The area is located along the cliff section stretching from Cava d'Aliga to Sampieri. The beach is difficult to access and is used mainly by residents of the surrounding zone. Coordinates: Y = 36.7204, X = 14.6980.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. No anomalous situations have been recorded in recent years.

Risks

Heavy precipitation can cause overflow of water channelled into the bathing area. Identified pollution sources include untreated urban discharges, agricultural activities, and white water discharge from overflow mechanisms. In Scicli, wastewater after treatment in the purification plant is discharged into the sea via submarine pipeline.
