Spiaggia Riaci is a sandy-pebbly beach located in Ricadi, Calabria, along an articulated coastline. The beach fronts agricultural territories near the mouth of the Torrente Vetrano. It has an area of 1.1 square kilometres and is classified as having excellent water quality.

Location

Ricadi, province of Vibo Valentia, Calabria. The beach is situated in an area preceding agricultural lands near the Torrente Vetrano river mouth.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The bathing water is monitored by the competent authorities (Regione Calabria, Comune, ASP, 118, Arpacal). No specific active wastewater treatment measures are currently reported.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events may occur through runoff from agricultural areas near the Torrente Vetrano river mouth. No cyanobacteria proliferation events or macroalgae/phytoplankton proliferation events were recorded in the previous four years.
