Soveria Simeri is a sandy and pebbly beach located in Sellia Marina, Calabria. The beach has a geomorphological character of a coastal plain with a conoid formation. The seafloor slopes gently from the waterline to the 5-meter isobath at an average gradient of 1.4%. Sediment grain sizes range from 0.13 to 2 millimeters.

Location

Located in Sellia Marina, Calabria, in the province of Catanzaro. The beach faces agricultural land between the Torrente Uria and the Fiume Simeri.

Facilities

Boardwalks for beach access. Animals are permitted.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is excellent. No specific pollution control measures are currently active.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events from runoff originating in agricultural areas have been identified. Cyanobacterial proliferation has not been recorded in the past four years. Macroalgae, phytoplankton, and potentially toxic species proliferation have not been recorded.
