Spiaggina - punto A is a bathing area located in Goro, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, within the Sacca di Goro lagoon. The beach begins approximately 200 metres east of Goro Port and extends for about 300 metres. The beach comprises fine sand and is protected by two embankment lines: one closer to the sea constructed of rock and a second made of earth. The bathing water is classified as a microtidal polyhaline transition water.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Sufficient (2021–2024). Escherichia coli (90th percentile): 94 CFU/100 ml; (95th percentile): 137 CFU/100 ml. Intestinal enterococci (90th percentile): 141 CFU/100 ml; (95th percentile): 215 CFU/100 ml. No direct discharge points or watercourses discharge into the bathing water at this profile location.

Risks

Goro Port located west of the bathing area and Bonello Pumping Station located approximately 350 metres east of the eastern boundary may generate eutrophication phenomena. During heavy rainfall, storm overflow activators in sewage networks and pumping stations in the Canal Bianco and Po di Volano river basins may discharge to the sea near the bathing area. An anomalous pollution event occurred on 26 July 2022 with intestinal enterococci levels exceeding legal limits; a temporary bathing prohibition was issued and revoked on 30 July 2022. No cyanobacterial eutrophication events have been reported. No phytoplankton or macroalgae blooms have been recorded.
