Staccionata is a sandy beach bathing water area located in Barletta, Puglia, in southern Italy. The beach covers an area of 0.62 square kilometres. The water has been classified as Excellent based on monitoring data from 2017–2020. The bathing area is influenced by treated wastewater discharges from the Barletta wastewater treatment plant via a submarine outfall pipeline.

Coastal marine water. The water body is part of the Margherita di Savoia–Barletta hydrographic unit and the Ofanto river basin.

Location

Barletta, in the province of Barletta–Andria–Trani, Puglia region. The bathing area extends 0.62 square kilometres.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No short-duration pollution events were recorded in the last four years. The identified pollution source is the Barletta wastewater treatment plant with treated urban discharges delivered to sea via a submarine pipeline.

Risks

No algal blooms or cyanobacterial proliferation have been detected. No toxic algal strains have been recorded in the last four years. No anomalous situations have been verified.
