Steller See is a 6-hectare inland lake in Groß Mackenstedt distinguished by naturally low pH levels and exceptionally clear water. The bathing area features a large beach section, adjacent meadow for sunbathing, playground, water slides, and a bathing island. Maximum depth is 16 metres, with shallow zones around the edges suitable for children's play and water sports (no motorboats permitted).

Water

Inland lake with a water surface area of 6 hectares. Maximum depth 16 metres. Natural pH levels are comparatively low. Shallow water zones along the margins.

Location

Located in Groß Mackenstedt near Stuhr. Easily accessible via motorway A1/A28 at the Stuhr triangle interchange, exit Groß Mackenstedt, with directional signs to Steller See. Part of the Familienpark Steller See campground.

Facilities

Beach area, sunbathing meadow, playground, water slides, bathing island, restaurant with kiosk, snack bar, beer garden. Sanitary facilities from adjacent campground. DLRG Weyhe lifeguard supervision during suitable weather conditions.

Water Quality

Excellent water quality classification according to EU Directive 2006/7/EG and Lower Saxon bathing water regulations 2008. Blue-green algae are virtually excluded.
