Surtesjön is a relatively large lake within the Vättlefjäll nature reserve featuring sand and rock beaches with flat grassy areas. The site offers walking opportunities around the lake and is home to many interesting and unusual bird species, with natural forest particularly on the eastern side. Rare plants such as gentian and bog bean can be found in the nature reserve. Canoe rental is available.
