Germany Lake 1 - Excellent

Pahna Lake is a natural lake surrounded by forest in the Fockendorf municipality of Thuringia. The lake has an elevation of 170 metres above sea level and covers an area of 0.25 square kilometres. It is fed by groundwater without any surface inflows. The bathing area benefits from excellent infrastructure as it adjoins the Pahna recreational park with a campsite, playgrounds, several restaurants, and shops.

Water

Natural lake with a water surface area of 0.25 square kilometres and a maximum depth of 14 metres. The lake is fed by groundwater inflow without surface inflows. The lake has very good ecological status (ÖKZ 1, oligotrophic). Water level fluctuations during bathing season are less than 0.5 metres.

Located in Fockendorf (04617), Altenburger Land district. Coordinates: 12.4991° longitude, 51.0467° latitude (ETRS89 system). Parking available. The site adjoins a campsite and recreational park with multiple facilities.

Water Quality

The bathing water has ecological status class 1 (very good) with oligotrophic trophy classification. No pollution sources have been identified in the vicinity.
