Tibidy is a bathing beach located in the commune of L'Hôpital-Camfrout in Brittany, France. The beach is situated at the mouth of the Camfrout River within the Brest roadstead watershed. At low tide, a rocky foreshore (schist platform) is exposed, followed by a muddy coastal zone. The beach profile was established in October 2017 to assess potential and identified pollution risks.

Water

The bathing area is part of the Brest roadstead (rade de Brest), located at the outlet of the Camfrout River. The beach features a rocky foreshore (schist platform) and a muddy coastal zone (slikke). The area is influenced by tidal currents, with current speeds exceeding 4 knots at the Espagnols Point during flood and ebb tides at a coefficient of 85.

Location

L'Hôpital-Camfrout commune, Rue de la Mairie, 29460 L'Hôpital-Camfrout, France. The beach is located at the Keroullé cove near the mouth of the Keroullé River.

Water Quality

The water quality classification as of 2013 was rated as 'good'. The profile includes monitoring of bacterial content in water and shellfish, potential for macroalgae proliferation, and potential for phytoplankton proliferation. Potential pollution sources have been identified in both the local watershed and general study areas.

Risks

Potential pollution risks from non-collective sanitation systems, leisure activities including boating and caravan camping, and equestrian activities have been identified. The beach is subject to discharge from the Keroullé River.
