Tresmeur beach is located in the commune of Trébeurden in the Lannion-Trégor Communauté area. The beach has a small watershed of 68 hectares with no significant hydrographic network. The surrounding territory is highly urbanized with a population that increases significantly during summer months. The beach is subject to monitoring under European bathing water quality directives.

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored by ARS (health authority) with bacteriological analyses for E. coli and enterococci conducted between 2012 and 2017. Classification follows both 1976 and 2006 EU directives. Algae deposits (ulves) are documented at nearby sites.

Risks

Potential pollution sources include wastewater collection and treatment systems, stormwater drainage systems, agricultural activity, and animal presence. Algae blooms (ulves) have been recorded at nearby sites between 2007 and 2016.
