Water Quality

Water quality classification from 2019 according to Decreto-Lei 135/09. Biweekly sampling frequency. No days of bathing prohibition due to short-term pollution events were recorded in bathing season 2019. Potential microbiological contamination sources include sewerage network malfunction, illegal discharges in the watershed, and a large population of ducks at the site.

Risks

Short-term pollution events may occur. Cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton proliferation are considered unlikely. Fecal contamination is possible from sewerage deficiencies or duck populations.
