Water quality has been assessed annually with 10 samples per year from 2009 to 2025 under both Croatian regulation and EU Directive 2006/7/EZ. Four-year assessment periods have been conducted from 2009–2012 through 2022–2025, each with 40 samples. Quality classifications of excellent, good, sufficient, and poor are recorded.
