Menfi, Agrigento Province, Sicily. The competent authority is the Municipality of Menfi, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III, Tel. 0925 70111.

Facilities

Seasonal catering point, assistance and first aid service, and bathing facilities. Animals are permitted with no specific prohibition signs or ordinances.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is Excellent. The area is influenced by a seasonal residential zone with non-cultivated areas and Mediterranean scrubland. A sewage collection network exists, but treatment plants are non-compliant with EU Directive 91/271/CE standards.

Risks

Discharge of untreated wastewater identified as a pollution source. Short-duration pollution events can occur from treatment plant failures and overflow. Temporary bathing prohibition measures are implemented during exceptional meteorological or marine weather events.
