Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2021–2022–2023). Monitoring conducted by Regione Campania, ASL Salerno, and ARPAC.

Risks

Possible pollution sources identified: Sele River mouth on the west side; sewage pumping station 'Foce Sele' (coordinates latitude 40.4779722, longitude 14.9483334) on the west side; potential breaks in the submarine pipeline of the wastewater treatment plant located in Gromola, via Varolato.
