Villeneuve-sur-Yonne, Yonne department. Parking available on Rue du Saucil and Rue Yonne Supérieure.

Facilities

Lifeguard surveillance, information signage, disabled access, toilets and showers, parking. Animals prohibited in bathing zone.

Season

1 July to 31 August. Average attendance 35 people per day; 2,000 people per season.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent from 2019 to 2021. Monitoring in 2021 showed good to moderate results for streptococci and Escherichia coli. Streptococci values ranged from 15 to 93 (limit: 100–660 for good/moderate classification). E. coli values ranged from 46 to 981 (limit: 100–1800 for moderate/poor classification). Few pollution sources identified upstream.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified within 0.3 to 5 kilometres: non-compliant individual sewage systems, boat wastewater discharges, surface water runoff from storm drains, industrial sites, and agricultural operations. Impacts rated as weak to strong depending on source.
