Weißenstädter See is a 50-hectare lake in the Fichtelgebirge region of Upper Franconia, accessible from all sides. The lake offers swimming, fishing, windsurfing, sailing, and boating opportunities. A 4-kilometre shoreline path is suitable for walking, cycling, inline skating, and wheelchair users.

Water

Lake with a surface area of 50 hectares. Visibility depths measured between 60 and 110 centimetres during the 2025 monitoring season.

The lake is accessible from all sides. A 4-kilometre shoreline path suitable for walking, cycling, inline skating, and wheelchair users is available.

Season

Monitoring conducted during pre-season and seasonal periods. Current monitoring updates provided daily during the bathing season.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as 'Excellent' based on EU statistical evaluation of microbiological tests from 2021–2024. Routine monitoring tests Enterococci and Escherichia coli. 2025 monitoring results show E. coli levels ranging from <10 to 21 MPN/100ml and Enterococci levels from <10 to 32 MPN/100ml. No signs of cyanobacterial blooms detected as of September 2025.
