Kösseinebad is a bathing water located at the edge of town towards Rodenzenreuth. It is primarily fed by water from the Kösseinebach stream. The facility includes a non-swimmer area and a diving tower. The bathing water was first reported to the EU in 2008.

Season

Monitoring occurs annually at the end of the bathing season and includes measurements from the current season and the three preceding seasons.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is based on a four-year statistical evaluation using the 95th percentile method. 2025 monitoring results show bacteriologically unobjectionable ratings across all test dates from April through September. Enterococci levels ranged from <10 to 10 MPN/100ml. Escherichia coli levels ranged from <10 to 21 MPN/100ml.

Risks

Bathing prohibition may be issued if faecal contamination is detected that poses a health risk, if Escherichia coli exceeds 1,800 KBE/100 ml or intestinal enterococci exceeds 700 KBE/100 ml in a single measurement confirmed by follow-up testing, or if algae concentrations present a health hazard.
